Job description

​

Tholang Mahloko is the Founder and Director of KIMSOMOE (Pty) Ltd. He roots himself in the arts and the reative/innovative space by taking charge in experimenting with cultural ideas, builds bridges between the perspectives of other creatives and brands by creating collaborative works of art

 

Achievements/Qualifications

​

Tholang attended the CAE Institute and achieved a Higher Certificate in Audio Engineering (with accreditation through QCTO, MICT SETA and SAQA). He went on further to obtain his Higher Certificate in Television and Motion Picture. He joined the African Motion Picture Company, as an intern, assisting the producer.

He then relocated to Kimberley, where he worked for a print/media company. Currently pursuing his BA in Film and Motion Picture, specialising in VISUAL EFFECTS, including Music Composition.

 

Passion for film

He receives his influence from his roots as a child; being from a rural background filled with colourful memories and rich South African history, he is one who enjoys positivity and productivity. He aspires to continue being a student of life, a reflection of others and a leader.

Personal Interests

​

He is passionate about health, wealth and sustainability. He enjoys jazz, classical music, jogging/running/cycling, reading and writing, herding livestock (especially cattle), enjoys the outdoors and outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and game hunting. He has a passion for African studies, ranging from African philosophy, lore, history, science and mystery. Furthermore he is passionate in attempting to continue his personal research in studying his family history and the history of his community and that of the world.

His favourite films or series are, AKIRA, Shaka Zulu, Shrek, The Grand Budapest Hotel, 9, Breaking Bad, The Wachowskis Films, Final Space, Bojak and Pale Cocoon.
